I was nervous buying a $1k pump. It arrived with the box a little worn but the contents are good. It was in perfect shape and the float switch activated it. What I don't like is that there are no directions or guidance for the outflow. It does notclearly indicate that it is a 1" diameter outflow. I saw some instructional videos that looked others used a 1" pipe, which concerned me. So it was nice that the two white PVC out flow adaptors are provided (one is threaded and then the 2" adaptor needs be cemented/glued). I did find an older sales video that explains outflow a little but that was it. There are also no installation videos on youtube specific to this model, from the company or individuals. Also note, I live in Las Vegas and basements are not common (our ground is too hard). So my local hardware store doesn't have any standard sump-pump accessories. Also, note that the company provides no real guidance on one-way return valves that need to be used. More so there is no direct guidance on the one-way value's spring pressure (5-lbs). There are warnings on the one-way value that the pressure of the spring might not be suitable for some pumps, but that's it. Since sump-pumps are not common where I come from there is no one to ask who has experience with these small details. Note, I did buy a one-way valve that has a 5-lb spring that the pump works well with, but that I hope doesn't strain the motor in the long run.
