The Makita 9557PB Angle Grinder holds 4.5” discs, runs 7.5 amps at 11k fixed rpm and is made in China. The kit includes a case that is too small, 5 grinding wheels and 1 diamond cutting wheel (useful when you want to cut thru a material). My biggest complaint is that the angle grinder won’t fit in the case with the handle attached (see photo). A slightly larger case could have accommodated this.Be sure to get a good pair of safety glasses and always keep the wheel guard on. Hand and eye injuries are the 2 most common emergency room accidents with angle grinders. The on/off paddle requires flicking a little lock off switch that is sure to break off at some point. Hidden is the lock on switch at the back of the paddle that lets you lock the power on when doing long grinds. It only works when powered and it is finicky. Really wish Makita would use a different color or text for buttons. I just add red tape. The wrench for taking off the disc is easily lost so if you don’t have extras zip tie it to the end of your power cord. The locking nut setup in angle grinders is wonky. Always put the disc in label side facing towards the tool. Take careful notice of which way the locking nut goes. It can be flipped depending on the disc. Use gloves when using the wrench as it is common for the lock button to release and sending your knuckles into the sharp edge.I went thru several cheap Harbor Freight Angle Grinders over the years before finally buying a quality Makita Angle Grinder that should last a lot longer. Powering on you can feel the torque of 11,000 rpm as the tool will literally twist unless you are using the side grip handle (left side for left hand so right hand can control the paddle). Be safe, have fun!I have a relative that as a full time welder, uses angle grinders every day for grinding and cut offs. He recommended Makita over all brands. I used this for 2 full days bringing down and cutting up a 16 ft satellite dish for scrap. It works great. I also used the diamond disk for cutting up concrete. It went through it like butter. Oh how I wish I'd bought this 40 years ago!Though I've never owned an angle grinder prior to purchasing this one, I have used them in the past, various makes/models. I can definitely say that this thing performs exceptionally well. It is incredibly powerful, efficient, and reliable.Majors does make a really good grinder. My only issue and it’s barely an issue but I would like to see maybe a less bulky design where it’s a little more comfortable to work with. Not a deal breaker for me. I’ll buy another one if this one ever fails. IF!Really like paddle switch, like to be able to cut off with out having to fight a switch. Just release your hold on paddle. Also.alot safer ,less time around spanning things. It's does exactly what it's supposed to do.Great price for a brand name tool.Seems good overall but have to wait too get a locking nut wrench because it was not put in case. Can't use it now until it gets to me. Might say, a little disappointing.Looked fantastic, lovely box , plenty spare disks etc. Finally got to use it cutting 20mm paving stones , lasted ten minutes - my own stupid fault - did not notice the 110V and plugged it in to 240V- I'm sure it would have been fine like the rest of my MAKITA tools - cut the stone perfectly in the ten minutes it worked, and I'm impressed it did not burn my hands offother OLDER reviews indicate that they got a different kit w/cutting wheels and grinder BUT they are NOW DOING THE BAIT N SWITCH TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE UNCLEAR LISTNG (EVEN LISTS DISCS IN THE DESCRIPTION???!!). RETURN AND REFUND.
