The jig itself is very sturdy built, but has one problem that should have been fixed since others have given the same review. That's why a 4 rating instead of 5. The hole for the tilt adjustment is too big for the screw included. The screw fits loose, wobbles around and when I try to adjust the tilt of the blade holder, the screw goes but slips back as you screw it in. The maker should either use a smaller drill bit to make the hole before threading it, or use a larger screw. The jig comes with a locking nut,(round, knurled nut) that, from the photos in the advert, is used to lock the screw adjustment from behind the adjustment screw holder. I just moved it to the front of the screw adjustment plate. Now the lock screw holds the screw and wont let it go back when you adjust the tilt of the holding plate. In other words, the lock nut is shown to be put on the adjustment screw, then the screw through the plate. I put the screw in the plate, move the blade hold plate out a little and then put the nut on. So it's between the screw plate and the blade plate. Seems to work, although I haven't used the jig yet. Also the adjustment screw end needs to be rounded at the end. The end of the screw is flat with the screw threads. Causing the screw to be harder to turn in spots and the screw to dig into the blade plate, causing the blade hold plate adjustment to change inconsistently. I filed/ground the end slightly rounded. This helped some. For stock removal blades. But not recommended for forged blades unless they’ve been surface ground after forging. It's okay. Seems a bit overpriced (at $57) for the quality. Finishes are rough with lots of burrs. The adjustment knob does not hold steady and only stops the plate from coming back. The plate is free to swing forward. Returning, I'll probably fabricate an improved version for myself.Very well built product. Probably my own lack of dexterity, I don't seem to be near as smooth, or fast. I'm sure with a little more practice it'll be more fruitful.Been making knives for years.Never used a jig because they were relatively expensive and I flat out didn't need one - I can do just fine by hand and eye... But that's not a fast process. Now orders are backing up and you know what? I took this thing for a test drive and I think...I think I am going to let it make me lazy! Not saying instant perfect grind - I'll still have to do a fair bit of touching up - but it ain't too shabby in it's results. Will save me a lot of time.Price was really good.Well put together.Well thought out.Good packaging.Shipped quick. No instructions but it ain't exactly rocket science and the pics and video on Amazon are pretty self explanatory. I looked at Amazon, put it together and mounted a blade in 10 or 15 minutes. No real learning curve unless you're new - I went to work with it right away and got to say I am pretty happy with the results. About 20 minutes compared to 2 hours or so I would have spent free handing it.Good tool.Definently recommending it for us old time snobs who are getting lazy lol.It is what it is , an inexpensive entry level bevel jig , had left over metal cuttings on most of the treaded holes, which can easily be sanded down, the threaded hole for the adjustment knob horrible job on the threads, will have to use nuts and washers on both sides of the adjustment plate, the bottom will also need to be sanded flat due to bolts protruding out of the bottom plate, but for the money spent I like it, looks sturdy, plenty of options on the threaded holes, the end of the adjustment bolt will need rounded up also, once again well worth the costI wish I had a photo to post this thing has made knife making incredible I do have to say there are no instructions in the box but once you figure it out it is amazing I love this product and I am truly thankful I found it I'm fairly new to knife-making and it has made my life greatGreat for someone who does stock removal knifes difficult to use for knives that are forged to shape and bevels hammered in its great at what it does
