After about two hour use, pressing a cookie dough, the lock ring cracked. It seems that the plastic is too thin. I reached the manufacturer in Germany, but they replied that they cannot ship parts to the US, but that the product has a 2 year warranty which I should resolve with Amazon. However, there it indicated that the window to do anything about the product expired. Yet we are only 1 1/2 year in the warranty period.I managed to repair it using a glue and a permanent steel clamp, it is strong, but looks a bit awkward. I is a great product, but just be aware.I bought this meat grinder for the cookie attachment. Three complaints that I have. The grinder itself did not stay in one place on the counter. I tried multiple things to try to make it stable. The instability of the grinder made turning the handle more difficult while at the same time pushing the dough through. Second, when the attachment used to push the dough was completely in the unit, it became stuck. I learned not to let this attachment become flush with the unit. Third, I don't know why the top of this attachment is open. If it were closed and one solid piece, it would be easier to use. The cookies turned out great but were a little more work with the grinder than I had hoped. Still easier than a cookie press. The old "screw" press is very hard to use. This is quick and easy. Difficult to clean. Hint: if you want the straw shape to hold its shape, press dough out on cold cookie sheet, chill cookie sheet with long lengths of dough on it. Preheat oven. When thoroughly cold, cut into lengths, Then bake. We "paint" the wind of watch cookie with melted choc Chips. Let cool fully before putting in cookie tin.Easy to use. A breeze to clean. Works great.I purchased this grinder to replace a favorite one I bought probably 20 years ago that was either Swiss- or German-made (I loaned it to someone and unfortunately never got it back). Have searched in vain for its identical replacement and finally decided to buy this one. Have not yet used it but it is very well made and sturdy, with a high quality, stainless steel cutting blade and a strong suction base. I will not grind meat in it, which I'm aware is important to some buyers - sorry I can't help you there. But I will use it to make fresh cranberry-orange relish and a few other fruit and vegetable things that I believe it will be able to handle with ease. It does include an attachment to make pressed (Spritz-style) cookies, so perhaps that will have value to some people, though I have a cookie press so likely will not use that feature. So far I like it!I was so excited to receive this. It shipped very quickly (in fact, it came a day eartly)! I was disappointed that after one use, the part that allows the different shapes of the dough became cracked.I like how small and the color too ❤️When I was a child, my aunt used to make cookies using meat grnder:) whole house smelled amazibg. Still remember the smell. I was so happy when i discovered that Amazon is selling it. And the machine is great. Easy to use, easy to clean, good quality.. great buy. Vielen Dank dafür!I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this mincer. Only the cutting blade and plates are made of metal. Everything else is a good quality plastic. It's designed in such a way that it is very easy to clean. No little nooks or crannies for meat to get stuck.I was dubious about the suction base but it works great on my granite worksurface and ceramic kitchen table. Very secure. Never feels like it's coming off and doesn't slide around. It's a right handed device so if you're a lefty like me then it can feel a bit clumsy but it wasn't a major issue.I did struggle a little mincing pork belly. It's not brilliant with high fat content of the meat. None the less it did the job.Great little device if you only mince say a kg of meat once a week. For the cost it would be hard to beat. Good quality. Works wellGreat for leftover meats to mince up and create new dishesWould recommendI only used the mincer once and have requested a return. I found the machine very, very hard to operate and was unable to fix it securely to the worktop. Its a smart little machine. Rather expensive
