It gets the job done. I crushed about a half ton using this in about two hours once I had a good setup, and the labor was minimal compared to a manual crusher.I initially had a lower rating on this, but had a conversation with the seller, who was very responsive, about some issues and they have promised to fix them, so the star rating assumes the issues are fixed. For reference, the issues are described below. The legs are short, so you can't collect a large volume underneath the grinder and you can't just set it on a table and collect underneath because the opening dispenses between the legs. I wanted to use my brewing buckets to collect the pomace, so I worked around this by making a platform with a cutout to fit a standard-sized bucket, but if you have something like a restaurant bus tub, that would work without modifications, just make sure it's made of food grade materials. You could probably also just prop a cutting board behind the opening if you didn't care about making a mess. Whatever you do, just be sure to use food-safe materials, which excludes a lot of unfinished wood and painted surfaces.Be careful to not load it too fast. Loading it by the handful works fine, pouring a bucket of apples in the chute all at once may create a jam. After cleaning or clearing a jam, you may find it difficult to get the crushing chamber gasket back on. Trimming the gasket so it only goes around the circular chamber may help. This is really only suitable for apples. It will not work for stone fruit and I would not recommend it for grapes that are not already destemmed, due to the possibility of jamming or too much stem inclusion in the must.
