I have used those McCormick salt and pepper grinder sets that you get in the grocery store. They were ok but you could not refill them. When I ran low on salt and pepper, I purchased this set instead of another non-refillable grinder set. This was a brilliant move on my partVery easy to refill. Grinds at 3 different levels from coarse to fine. Just turn the knob on top and get the perfect seasoning for whatever meal you are cooking. These are the grinders only with no salt or pepper. If you are looking for good quality salt and pepper to put in them check out The Spice Lab here on Amazon. They have sets of salt and pepper which is what I use https://amzn.to/3emWWhnThis is a great set of grinders. We have bought the battery operated ones twice and had them literally explode in use. All the parts at the bottom started to fall out and they stopped. After that happened we went back to the old basic elbow power ones. Nothing better and they look good setting out.Exactly as advertised. Very good grinders. What took me so long to find the best salt and pepper shakers ever???? I use pink Himalayan coarse salt and black pepper corns. Absolutely the best.I can't say enough good things about these. Perfect grind sizes. They look amazing. I love themThe appearance and finish on the wood is nice and was well represented by the product pics. These feel solid and the ceramic grinder works smoothly. They provide an easily adjustable range of grinds. The capacity is sufficient to last many uses but not so much that the contents will get old. I feel these will last longer than me most likely.perfect size for table use.I loved the wood and that you can see which is salt or pepper without having an S or P on them. We like to have the ability to make the coarseness very fine or a bigger coarseness. It appeared you can easily change it via the silver top based on the description, but we saw little to no difference when turning it. Sadly had to return.I wanted a set of salt and pepper grinders that look authentic and would blend in well with the decor, these where perfect, these are quite large which is great as your not having to constantly refill them and it makes them stand out as a centrepiece. They are very strong and sturdy and most certainly built to last, there isn’t a cheap feel like my previous ones. The solid wood colour looks great and will blend in with most peoples decor. Filling these was super quick and easy and instructions are provided if you have never used these before.Overall very happy and would certainly recommend to others! These were great until a couple of days ago ..my partner said he thinks there was tiny shards of plastic in his food. We didn’t think too much of it until I used the grinders again today. I noticed the same thing.I grind some into my hand to check... and yes, there were definitely small shards of plastic.Won’t be using them again. Passed the return date now unfortunately, do not recommend buying these. We had a pepper mill since the 70s. They made things to last in those days and of an unbeatable quality. Sadly it finally succumbed about a year ago. It's been impossible trying to find a mill to equal the one we had. We have been using a hopeless thing where the tiniest amount of pepper comes out. You don't even get that 'crunching' of the peppercorns it's so rubbish. After reading the reviews on Amazon I decided to go for these. I shall use the one for salt at a later date but the pepper one is working far better than the diabolical one we've had for the last year. It actually 'crunches' the peppercorns and it comes out quite generously. It's not the standard of the one we used to have up until a year ago but it works and we get a decent amount of pepper from it. It had better last. The salt and pepper mills look good and at first appear very good value. However, after about 4 months the pepper mill completely wore out; I guess I was using it 2-3 times a week. Not recommended. Go and invest in a decent set like LeCreuset which are much more expensive but the quality is obvious and will last many years.I've always wanted a wooden pepper grinder, I was always jealous of the ones that they had in Italian restaurants that you were never allowed to operate. Probably for health and safety reasons to stop you accidently bludgeoning a random passer by due to a fit of sneezing from excessive pepper milling.Stumbled across these two grinders and noticed the video, well that was it, the sexy video had me hook line and sinker and I ordered them. They arrived the next day and they were instantly filled in preparation to use on that nights vegetable lasagne. They worked well and supplied adequate seasoning just as the almost pornagraphic video had suggested. We did however have to explain to the kids that they weren't for smashing up your food but we are still happy with our purchase.
