I bought this to replace a much cheaper, entry level shredder. That one didn't hold up well at all. This one is way beefier and much more well built. It can chew through a half leaf easily without binding up. It is easy to turn and I can process a much higher rate of whole leaf tobacco than I could previously.I ended up cutting a piece of 2x4 to length and attaching it to my desk with screws. It is completely solid and a joy to use. I would recommend this to anyone, all day long.** I will try and get some pictures of the shredder once I cleanup and organize the processing station I have going on.Edit 1 - 8/10/18: I took my shredder apart to clean and adjust the combs. There was a loose crown nut on one of the sides holding the cover over the gears. I was able to adjust the threaded rod so that the crown nuts were snug on both sides. There was some tobacco building up in the recesses of the rollers after shredding moderate amounts. The comb teeth had some buildup stuck in them but I think the main issue was that the combs were not adjusted close enough to the rollers. This would be the way it came out of the box, this is the first time I disassembled it. Once I cleaned them up and reinstalled them a little closer (they are adjustable) it is chewing through large amounts of tobacco without any buildup. I was also able to shred through 2 lbs of tobacco without any issues and very minimal buildup/cleanup. It was easy to disassemble and reassemble as well. You only need an 8mm socket and driver handle for the nuts and crown nuts. This shredder is holding up beautifully and it is easy and quick to use. Still five stars!Edit 2 - 11/11/18: Haven't had any problems yet. I've lost count of the number of pounds of tobacco that has been put through this shredder. If I had to guess though I'd say I have put at least 25 pounds through it so far. No other updates for this item yet but I do have cleaning tips...Cleaning: if you go to clean this shredder, there are a few ways to go. I had read that putting the rollers into boiling water would clean this really well. I haven't tried that yet but I did disassemble it the first time and scrubbed it with hot water for a bit. I also removed the combs and used a steel brush to remove old, stuck-on tobacco. That seemed to work ok but note that I didn't remove the rollers from the shredder, I just rinsed the entire unit. This procedure took maybe 30 minutes total.A while back I bought a hand-held steamer so I could rehydrate tobacco that was too dry. I decided to steam the rollers from underneath while cranking the handle. It got nasty pretty quick. There was a bunch of tobacco gunked up in the rollers and combs and it had gotten to the point where I couldn't turn the handle without a lot of resistance. That all immediately turned into a watery tobacco soup. I panicked a little before deciding on cutting up some printer paper and running that through it. The paper quickly soaked up the tobacco-water and cleaned the rollers up like new. A quick brushing on the combs with a steel brush and those were good to go. The best part about it was that it only took a few minutes and I didn't even have to unbolt it from the desk or disassemble anything. The paper did get a tad caught up under the combs but it was easy enough to clean up and you can't beat the feel of a completely spotless shredder. It even pendulums the handle to a stop now if you let it go. Total cleanup time was about 3 minutes! You can't beat that!Update: 09/23/24 - I quit home rolling for several years. I recently decided to order whole-leaf tobacco again due to the prices of cigarettes. $10+ per pack is criminal. I get sin tax and all but this is beyond ridiculous. So I busted out the shredder, my storage canisters, my trays, my tube stuffer and bought 3lbs of tobacco. Shredder is still working perfectly. I'll prolly give it a heavy cleaning soon because it got a little harder to turn. But I'm sure cleaning it up a bit will fix it. Still 5 stars. Worth every penny, you'll save the $140 in no time once you switch.
