These work well with buffing compound. (They are soft and do nothing without it.)A lot of string and lint fly off when first used, so do that outside if possible!But after that, the only thing flying off is the polishing compound.I like the variety, and they last for a good amount of buffing. 2 or more sets would be useful, as it's best to use only one polishing compound per wheel (and mark it, so you know which compound grit you need to continue using with which wheel). As it is, I've changed compounds, which also works for less-precise jobs, but there is now multiple grit compounds mixed on my wheels.
